What is the area like?

This area is a fun and trendy part of town very close to the beaches. You can walk to Sheinkin Avenue which has the best locally owned shops and galleries, you can walk to the Carmel Shuk and find everything to stock up on for breakfast dinner or lunch. This part of town has many turn of the century buildings that havae been upgraded to spectacular homes. This is one of them and it is available to you to stay in while you are here.

What shall I have for lunch?

Walk into the Yeminite Quarter and stop off at one of the sidewalk cafes in the little side streets of this old neighborhood and try some of the local middle eastern influenced dishes. Fuol, is a bean and rice dish served with pitas or try some meatballs with a little bit of mint.

Where can I empty my wallet?

If Sheinkin Avenue hasn't lured that cash from your pocket walk to the Dizengoff Center and try one of many local favorites for Israeli fashions such as;TNT,Castro or FOX. There are also typical food choices inside the mall but you should stop on the way at one of many small tasty cafes on the way. They will definitely be better choices here than at  the food court in any mall.

Arts and Entertainment?

The Nachum Gutman Museuem has a large collection of the artist's works as well as a collection of other Jewish and Israeli artists. The museum is located in the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek. 21 Rokach St., Neve Zedek

Also, across the street from this museum is the home of the founding family of Neve Tzedek. The Rokach Family home is also a museum with works from the First Family's daughter. It is very unusual to see the art displayed in the fashion in this house. You can also buy some of her art here.

Let's Get Practical

City buses and small yellow shared vans run all day long for about 6 shekels in each direction. Find your quickest route to the best beaches or walk the 10 minutes and enjoy this neighborhood on foot. Taxis are a great option and are very inexpensive. ATMs are at all major branches and take international credit cards so getting shekels to spend is easy. You can also use your credit cards at the cash exchange kiosks for advances. Make sure you ask about any additional fees first.

There are large supermarkets that deliver to your apartment. Remember to give your addfress and wait for them to arrive. This way you can load up one time and not have to shcleppe it all back yourself.
